05 - 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, firmly packed
06 - 1/4 cup (50g) white sugar
07 - 1 large egg at room temp
08 - 3/4 cup (190g) smooth peanut butter
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Topping

10 - 24 unwrapped chocolate hearts
11 - 1/4 cup (50g) white sugar for coating (if desired)

# Instructions:

01 - In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well mixed.
02 - Mix butter with both sugars for about 2 minutes until fluffy. Then add the egg, followed by peanut butter and vanilla.
03 - Add dry ingredients to wet and mix slowly until everything comes together. Let the dough cool in fridge for at least an hour.
04 - Heat oven to 350°F. Put parchment on your baking sheets. Make sure you've got room in your freezer.
05 - Make 1 tablespoon balls of dough, roll in sugar if you want. Place them 3 inches apart and bake until cracked on top, about 11-13 minutes.
06 - Push a chocolate heart into each hot cookie. Put cookies on a plate and stick in freezer for 10 minutes to harden the chocolate.

# Notes:

01 - Commercial peanut butter works better than natural
02 - Don't skip the fridge time
03 - Quick freezing stops the chocolate from getting too soft
04 - They'll stay good for a week if stored at room temp
