Nutella Pastry Treats (Printer-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Pastry Prep

01 - A single puff pastry sheet (thawed if frozen)
02 - A generous ½ cup of Nutella
03 - 1 egg (to use for brushing)
04 - 1 tablespoon water (combine with egg)

→ Optional Toppings

05 - Fresh berries
06 - Whipped cream
07 - Powdered sugar

# Let's Cook:

01 - Turn your oven on to preheat at 375°F (190°C). Lay parchment paper on a baking sheet.
02 - Flatten the puff pastry (make sure it’s not cold!) and cut it into hearts using a knife or cookie cutter.
03 - Move the heart-shaped pieces onto the lined baking tray and put them in the fridge for 10 minutes so the shape holds firm.
04 - Spread a tablespoon of Nutella right in the center of half of the hearts, leaving the edges clear.
05 - Cover each Nutella layer with another heart-shaped pastry. Close up the edges by pressing together, and if you’d like, use a fork to crimp them.
06 - Whip together an egg and some water, and gently brush the mixture over the pastries. This makes them bake to a nice golden brown.
07 - Put everything in the oven for about 15-18 minutes until they puff up and turn golden. Allow them to cool a little before serving.
08 - Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and add berries or whipped cream if you’d like. Eat and enjoy!

# Cook's Notes:

01 - Tastes best while warm
02 - Both store-bought and homemade puff pastries work great
03 - A cute pick for Valentine's celebrations or anything special
