Nutella Hand Pies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pastry Dough

01 - A cup of salted butter, chilled and cut into cubes
02 - Two cups of plain flour
03 - Six and a half tablespoons of white sugar
04 - A quarter teaspoon of table salt
05 - One big egg yolk
06 - One whole large egg

→ Filling & Finishing

07 - A cup of Nutella hazelnut spread
08 - 1-2 tablespoons of powdered sugar for decoration

→ Egg Wash

09 - One large fresh egg
10 - 1-2 tablespoons of water or milk, your choice

# Instructions:

01 - In a food processor, combine the dry ingredients with the butter, egg, and yolk until it starts to come together. Move the mix to a floured countertop and gently knead it into a smooth dough.
02 - Place the dough in the fridge for half an hour. At the same time, scoop Nutella in small portions onto parchment and freeze for 20-30 minutes until solid.
03 - Set the oven to 350°F (180°C) and get baking sheets ready with parchment paper. Roll out the dough until it’s about 1/8 inch thick.
04 - Cut out circles about 3½ inches wide. Put a frozen Nutella scoop in the middle of one circle, cover it with another circle that has slits cut in it, seal the edges with a fork, and brush with egg wash.
05 - Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. You can serve warm or let them cool, dusted with powdered sugar if you like.

# Notes:

01 - Keep them at room temp for up to 2 days or in the fridge for 4-5 days.
02 - You can freeze these either baked or unbaked, and they’ll be good for about three months.
03 - If you don’t have a food processor, you can make the dough by hand or use a stand mixer.
