Stir sugar and yeast into the warm water. Let it hang out for 5 minutes, or until bubbles form.

Combine the yeast mix with salt and oil. Add the flour bit by bit until dough forms. Knead it till smooth, cover it, and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Split dough into 4 pieces. Flatten each one into a circle, then reshape into hearts. Put them on parchment sprinkled with cornmeal and pierce them lightly with a fork.

Spread sauce over each heart, then sprinkle cheese and add pepperoni slices.

Pop them in the oven at 450°F for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush the hot crusts with your garlic butter.
