Easy Ham and Cheese Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Nonstick cooking spray
02 - 2 cups milk
03 - 8 large eggs
04 - ½ teaspoon salt
05 - 8 cups cubed bread
06 - 4 ounces diced country ham
07 - 1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
08 - ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C (350 degrees F). Spray a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
02 - Whisk together milk, eggs, and salt in a mixing bowl.
03 - Place about three-fourths of the bread cubes into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with diced country ham and 1 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese.
04 - Carefully pour the egg mixture over the top. Add the remaining bread cubes and gently press them to submerge into the liquid until fully coated.
05 - Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded Cheddar cheese over the top.
06 - Bake in the preheated oven until light golden brown and set in the middle, about 40 minutes.
07 - Allow the casserole to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

# Notes:

01 - Use light, fluffy bread such as brioche buns for best results. If using dense bread, use a smaller quantity to fit into the dish.
