                Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C (350 degrees F). Spray a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

                Whisk together milk, eggs, and salt in a mixing bowl.

                Place about three-fourths of the bread cubes into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with diced country ham and 1 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese.

                Carefully pour the egg mixture over the top. Add the remaining bread cubes and gently press them to submerge into the liquid until fully coated.

                Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded Cheddar cheese over the top.

                Bake in the preheated oven until light golden brown and set in the middle, about 40 minutes.
