British Sausage Rolls Classic (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
02 - 1 lb pork sausage, crumbled
03 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
04 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
05 - 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
06 - 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
07 - Salt and black pepper to taste

→ Pastry

08 - 1 (1 lb) box frozen puff pastry, thawed
09 - 1 egg, beaten
10 - 1/4 cup milk

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400˚F. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and add crumbled pork sausage. Cook until browned, then remove from heat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, Tabasco sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
02 - Carefully unroll thawed puff pastry sheets. Cut each sheet lengthwise into two equal sections.
03 - Brush the edges of each pastry piece with beaten egg. Place sausage filling along the center of each rectangle. Fold over one long side, enclosing the filling, and crimp the folded side with the tines of a fork to seal.
04 - Cut each filled pastry log into four equal pieces. Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with milk using a clean brush.
05 - Place sausage rolls on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
