Sweet Strawberry Heart Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Wet Ingredients

01 - 1 cup softened unsalted butter
02 - 1 3/4 cups white sugar
03 - 4 large eggs at room temp
04 - 2 teaspoons pure vanilla
05 - 1/2 cup room temp milk

→ Dry Ingredients

06 - 2 1/2 cups sifted plain flour
07 - 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
08 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

→ Fruit and Topping

09 - 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh strawberries with tops removed
10 - Dusting of powdered sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Beat the butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Drop in eggs one by one, mixing thoroughly each time. Add the vanilla and blend well.
02 - In another bowl, mix all dry stuff together. Add to the butter blend bit by bit, swapping between dry mix and milk, starting and finishing with the dry stuff.
03 - Slowly fold the strawberry chunks into your mix, taking care not to smash them up.
04 - Dump into a greased and floured bread pan. Cook at 350°F for 60-70 minutes. Cover loosely with foil after 40 minutes if browning too fast.
05 - Let it sit in the pan for 10 minutes, then move to a wire rack until totally cool. Sprinkle sugar on top before you serve it.
