If using a homemade angel food cake, ensure the cake is fully cool before beginning assembly.

In a large bowl, mash the diced strawberries lightly with the back of a fork. Fold in the thawed Cool Whip and mini marshmallows. Cover the mixture and chill for 20 minutes.

Place the angel food cake on a serving platter. Using a sharp serrated knife, carefully cut the cake horizontally into three layers, setting aside the top two layers.

Spread a portion of the cream mixture over the bottom layer of the cake. Place the middle layer on top and spread more cream mixture over it. Repeat with the top layer.

Spread the remaining cream mixture evenly over the top and sides of the cake until fully covered.

Chill the assembled cake for at least 90 minutes before serving.
