Spicy Honey Halloumi Avocado Toast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Garlic Confit

01 - 1 head garlic, peeled
02 - Olive oil, enough to cover garlic in a small saucepan

→ Toast

03 - 2 slices sourdough bread or preferred type
04 - 2 tbsp olive oil

→ Halloumi Topping

05 - 1/2 block (4 ounces) halloumi cheese, sliced
06 - 2 tbsp olive oil
07 - 1 tbsp honey
08 - 1 tbsp lemon juice
09 - 1/2 tsp chili flakes
10 - 1 tsp sesame seeds

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Place peeled garlic cloves in a small, oven-safe saucepan and cover them with olive oil. Bake for 2 hours until garlic is soft and tender. Let cool.
02 - Heat a pan over medium heat and add olive oil. Place bread slices in the pan and toast until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Set aside.
03 - Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add halloumi slices and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Add honey, lemon juice, chili flakes, and sesame seeds to the pan, stirring to coat. Let caramelize briefly and remove from heat.
04 - Spread garlic confit on each toasted bread slice. Add avocado slices on top and season with a pinch of salt. Place fried halloumi on top of the avocado and drizzle with chili oil. Serve immediately.
