Pioneer Woman's Chili Dish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 lbs ground beef, 85% lean
02 - ½ yellow onion, diced
03 - 4 cloves garlic, diced
04 - 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
05 - 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
06 - 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
07 - 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes

→ Seasonings

08 - 2 tablespoons chili powder
09 - 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
10 - 1 teaspoon ground oregano
11 - 1 teaspoon salt
12 - 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

→ Thickening Mixture

13 - 1/4 cup yellow masa harina
14 - ½ cup water

→ Optional Toppings

15 - sour cream
16 - tortilla chips
17 - avocado
18 - shredded cheese

# Instructions:

01 - In a large pot, add ground beef and onion and cook over medium heat until meat has browned.
02 - Stir in garlic, all seasonings, and tomato sauce, and cook for 2-3 more minutes.
03 - Move meat mixture to crockpot. Add beans and diced tomatoes with juices.
04 - In a small bowl, mix masa harina and water together until smooth. Add the mixture to the crockpot and stir everything together.
05 - Set crockpot to high to cook for 2-3 hours or low to cook in 4-6 hours.
06 - Serve warm and top as desired with sour cream, tortilla chips, avocado, or shredded cheese.
