Cover a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.

Use a large mixing bowl to blend the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and butter until smooth. Add in the crushed cereal and mix evenly.

Roll the mixture into small balls and arrange them on the sheet. Pop them in the fridge for at least a half hour to firm up.

Put the chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir well. Keep heating for 20-30 seconds at a time, stirring after each, until the chocolate is totally smooth.

Dip each ball into the melted chocolate and set them back on the tray. Let them rest until the coating hardens.

Seal in an airtight container. Store in the fridge for a few days or freeze them for weeks.
