→ Cake Base

10 - 2½ cups plain flour
11 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
12 - ½ teaspoon baking soda
13 - ½ teaspoon salt
14 - 1¼ cups white sugar
15 - ¼ cup packed brown sugar
16 - ¾ cup softened unsalted butter
17 - 3 room-temperature large eggs
18 - 2 teaspoons vanilla
19 - 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
20 - 1¼ cups sour cream
21 - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
22 - ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Combine sugars, spices, and salt in a bowl. Mix in melted butter. Add flour, chocolate chips, and walnuts (optional), stirring everything until it clumps.
02 - Set your oven to 350°F ahead of time. Coat a 9-inch round cake pan (or springform one) with grease and a dusting of flour.
03 - Whisk together the flour, baking powders, and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
04 - Cream butter with both sugars until super fluffy. Beat in eggs, one after another. Mix in the vanilla, lemon juice, and sour cream. Slowly fold in the flour mix, chocolate chips, and walnuts if using them.
05 - Put the batter in the pan and sprinkle the streusel on top. Bake for 45 minutes, then cover loosely with foil and let it bake for another 40 to 50 minutes until it's done. Let it rest for 30 minutes before cutting.

# Notes:

01 - Choose a deep 9-inch pan or divide into smaller ones
02 - Keep all ingredients at the same warm temperature
03 - Feel free to leave out the walnuts
