Best Cheesy Million Lasagna (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meat and Pasta Base

01 - 1-1/4 pounds ground beef or Italian sausage
02 - 12 sheets of lasagna pasta
03 - Two cans (8 oz each) of tomato sauce
04 - One jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
05 - 1 tsp dried Italian herbs

→ Cheesy Filling

06 - Softened block of cream cheese (8 oz)
07 - A container (24 oz) of cottage cheese
08 - 1 beaten egg
09 - One tablespoon dried parsley
10 - 1/4 cup sour cream

→ For the Layers

11 - Half a cup of grated parmesan
12 - Slices of mozzarella (1 pound)

# Instructions:

01 - Get the oven hot at 375°F. Boil lasagna according to instructions, strain out the water, and leave to cool.
02 - Cook sausage in a pan on medium heat till done, drain any grease, then mix in tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, and Italian herbs. Let it simmer 5 to 10 minutes till it gets thicker.
03 - In one bowl, stir together cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, egg, and parsley till it’s smooth and mixed well.
04 - Coat a 9x13 pan with non-stick spray. Begin with 1 cup of meat sauce at the base, then lay 6 pasta sheets overlapping across the pan.
05 - Use half your cottage cheese mix and a third of the mozzarella slices, followed by half the meat sauce and 1/4 cup parmesan. Start another round and end with the remaining cheeses. Cover with foil.
06 - Bake with foil for 25 minutes, then without foil for 30 minutes until bubbling. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.

01 - You can prep this in advance and freeze it.
02 - If frozen, make sure to thaw all the way before baking.
03 - Feel free to swap out the meat for something else you like.
04 - Shredded mozzarella works fine instead of slices.
