Ground Beef Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 medium yellow onion, chopped small
02 - 1 pound of lean ground beef (90% lean)
03 - 4 hoagie rolls, about 7 inches each, or a French baguette cut into 4 sections
04 - 1 green bell pepper, finely diced
05 - 8 ounces of provolone cheese

→ Seasonings

06 - 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
07 - 1/2 teaspoon regular table salt
08 - 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
09 - 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on and heat it up to 400°F.
02 - In a big frying pan, warm it up over medium heat. Toss in your chopped onion, green bell pepper, the ground beef, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Stir it once in a while and keep cooking for 10 minutes, or until the veggies are tender and the beef’s browned all the way through.
03 - While the beef mix is cooking, split the hoagie rolls lengthwise (or cut the baguette sections in half the same way) and lay them flat on a baking tray.
04 - Once the beef is done, mix in the Worcestershire sauce. Put half of the provolone slices over the beef, lower the heat to a gentle simmer, and let the cheese melt for about 2 minutes. Stir it together so the cheese mixes in evenly.
05 - Grab some tongs and spread the cheesy beef mixture evenly over all the rolls you’ve prepped.
06 - Top each sandwich with the remaining cheese slices. Pop them back into the oven for 3-5 minutes, just until the cheese on top is nice and gooey, and the rolls have a slight crunch.

# Notes:

01 - This faster take on a Philly cheesesteak swaps traditional thinly sliced beef for ground beef, saving time.
02 - It’s a perfect recipe to whip up on a busy weeknight when you’re hankering for a filling meal.
