Creamy Baklava Cookies (Printer-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Cookie Base

01 - 1 and a half cups of plain flour
02 - Half a cup of white sugar
03 - Half a cup of softened unsalted butter
04 - A fourth cup of honey
05 - A fourth cup of finely chopped walnuts
06 - A fourth cup of finely chopped pistachios
07 - Half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder
08 - A tiny pinch of cardamom, about a fourth teaspoon
09 - A fourth teaspoon of salt

→ Filling and Garnish

10 - A fourth cup of softened cream cheese
11 - A fourth cup of powdered sugar
12 - A fourth cup of caramel sauce
13 - Extra pistachios and walnuts for sprinkling on top

# Let's Cook:

01 - Heat the oven up to 350°F, and get a baking sheet ready with parchment paper.
02 - Whip the butter and sugar until it’s light and airy. Stir in the honey. In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients, then add those to the butter mixture. Finally, gently fold in the nuts.
03 - Roll the dough into small balls, press them down a bit to flatten, and bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
04 - Blend the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth while the cookies cool down.
05 - Spread the filling on a cookie and top it with another, making a sandwich. Drizzle caramel sauce over the cookies and sprinkle extra nuts on top.
