09 - 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into pieces

13 - 1 cup chopped apple

14 - 1 cup confectioner's sugar
15 - 2 tablespoons milk
16 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, white whole wheat flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt.
03 - Cut in cold butter pieces until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
04 - In a small bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
05 - Add wet ingredients to the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Gently stir in the chopped apple.
06 - Drop by 1/4 cup portions onto the prepared baking sheet.
07 - Bake for 11-13 minutes until the bottoms are golden and centers are set. Remove to a wire rack and turn oven to broil.
08 - In a small bowl, whisk together confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
09 - Brush a thin layer of glaze over the fritters and broil for 2-4 minutes until the tops are golden.
10 - Brush the remaining glaze over the warm fritters. Allow the glaze to harden before serving.
