Apple Pudding Delight (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Bread Mix

01 - 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
02 - 3 large apples, peeled and diced into 1/2-inch chunks
03 - 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
05 - 4 tablespoons plain unsalted butter
06 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon spice
07 - 1 pound of cut brioche or challah bread cubes, about 1-inch

→ Egg Mixture

08 - 4 large eggs whisked
09 - 2 1/2 cups of full-fat milk
10 - 1/2 cup granulated white sugar

→ Sweet Bourbon Sauce

11 - 1/4 cup rich heavy cream
12 - 1 cup packed light brown sugar
13 - 1/2 cup of creamy butter
14 - 3 tablespoons bourbon

# Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 350°F. Spread bread cubes on a baking tray and heat until lightly toasted, around 10 minutes.
02 - Heat apples in a pan with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt, stirring until they’re soft, about 5 minutes.
03 - Combine eggs, milk, and sugar in a bowl and whisk until smooth.
04 - In a greased 9x13 dish, mix the bread and cooked apples. Pour the custard evenly and leave to soak for 15 minutes.
05 - Put the dish in the oven and bake for around 40 minutes, or until golden and a knife placed in the center comes out clean.
06 - Melt butter and sugar together, add cream, and stir for about 2 minutes. Mix in bourbon and cook for another minute.

# Notes:

01 - You can skip toasting if your bread is stale.
02 - Keep the sauce and dessert in separate containers.
03 - Works great if made in advance and reheated when needed.
